Welcome to the Atlantic Forest Restoration Pact (AFRP). You can see below the different forms of participation. By choosing one or more of the categories 1 to 4, the institution becomes a SIGNATORY, for as long as it is performing the functions that are defined for those categories.
By choosing one or more of the categories 5 to 8, the institution becomes a NON-SIGNATORY, but will contribute in other ways to the developing of activities. Any NON-SIGNATORY institution that so desires, and observes all the criteria and procedures laid down for categories 1 to 4, may adhere to and become a signatory to the Atlantic Forest Restoration Pact at any time.
SIGNATORIES
- For an institution to become an effective signatory to the Atlantic Forest Restoration Pact, it should just follow the steps below:
- 1 - Accept the rules laid down in the Protocol of the Atlantic Forest Restoration Pact
- 2 - Choose the participation category below, and complete the corresponding form
- 3 - Complete and send in the Declaration of Adherence
- 4 - Obtain the approval of the Atlantic Forest Restoration Pact Steering Committee, by e-mail

1 - EXECUTOR OF A RESTORATION PROJECT
- these are institutions that carry out specific forest restoration projects (natural regeneration, direct planting, species enrichment, etc.) and are prepared to observe the criteria and procedures laid down by the Atlantic Forest Restoration Pact Steering Committee.

2 - RESEARCH and DIFFUSION CENTER
- these are institutions that carry out research and generate scientific knowledge and/or take steps for the diffusion of knowledge relating to the restoration of ecosystems in the Atlantic Forest and other related activities (e.g.: colleges, universities, research centers, training centers, etc.). To become an AFRP signatory as a Research and Diffusion Center, the institution must be developing research and making certain knowledge available for the benefit of or in partnership with an existing AFRP signatory and/or for the general activities of the AFRP, as well as meet the above mentioned requirements.

3 - PROMOTER OF PUBLIC POLICIES
- an institution that must be involved and participating in and/or promotes discussion surrounding the development of laws, regulations or programs relating to the restoration of the Atlantic Forest, and may be a government body or a non-governmental institution (NGO, Forum, Council, etc.), as well as meet the above mentioned requirements.

4 - SPONSOR or DONOR
- these are institutions â private companies, foundations, specific funds or government funds â that are financing and/or sponsoring the projects of signatories and/or AFRP institutional activities or are donating services or other inputs to the AFRP.

NON - SIGNATORIES
- To become a NON-SIGNATORY institution, just choose a participation category and complete the corresponding form:

5 - PRODUCER OF SEEDS AND SEEDLINGS
- these are institutions that carry out activities relating to forest restoration in the Atlantic Forest, by producing seeds and seedlings of native species.

6 - SERVICES and OTHER INPUTS
- a private individual or legal entity that offers services or other inputs directly related to the development of forest restoration activities and/or the promotion, publicizing or management of the AFRP (e.g.: transportation companies, designers, translators, agencies, GIS, writers, photographers, lawyers, etc.)

7 - VOLUNTEER
- a private individual who wishes to promote the activities and projects of the AFRP within society, on a voluntary basis. (e.g.: celebrities, journalists, supporters of the cause, diverse professionals, etc).

8 - I WANT TO REGISTER MY AREA FOR RESTORATION
- a private individual or legal entity that owns areas that are available for forest restoration and wishes to register them on the AFRP database, for possible future restoration. The AFRP does not guarantee the restoration of such areas. THIS CLASSIFICATION DOES NOT REQUIRE ADHERENCE, just REGISTRATION.
